Yet Another HoM-GW2 Question...
Alrighty..... I want to fill my HoM. -Money is not an issue. What I need to know, is if u can link your GW1 acc to your GW2 acc, without a plaync account. I have an account, but I lost my information. They refuse to give me my info even after proof of purchase.
Basically, can I transfer my stuff over w/o linking via plaync. |

No one knows yet. Hopefully more information will be available when the game is closer to launch.

I've had the same worry and I won't be buying gw2 unless the situation is positive and we don't have to have a plaync account.

because I'm not going to spend more money on a company who would have such a lousy method of transfer.
How is anybody supposed to know that they will need to keep CD-keys years later, when for most games they're useless after the install. I could just go and restart in gw2 but I don't fancy having nothing to show for the things I've achieved in gw1. |

yep.. see for me money is an issue so those of us that arent uber rich(ppl that buy polar bears and onis and things of that nature, im looking at you ) have to ask ourselves, "what is going to be useful in the near future(gw2).
So with anet speculating at gw2's realese being sometime earlier next year (mach april in that area) you'd think that they would at least give us some info on whats going to happen. but then again it could go under the rug and anet will just come out with another "oops srry we didnt have the resources to get this done.. but gl everyone ;D" so we dont really know... but anyway HOPEFULLY(and im putting my hope into this one) they'll tell us before halloween of this year. And on a less serious note... if you get your account hacked in these harrowing times it wont even matter if you got everythign in gw1... you wont have an account to link anymore ;p which makes me curious.. im surprised people arent freaking out at the above thing i mentioned.. as a future ramping up the suspence for the game they told us out gw2 account will get some special stuff if we did certain things in gw1(aka filling ur HoM). But with all these accounts getting hacked.. doesnt it kind of say that you'll LINK the accounts... which is kind of a hackers banetquet? id personally be a bit more worried to buy gw2 and a bit more less likely to get it if it links to my perviously hacked gw account to give me cool stuff in gw2 xD. Just a bit of food for thought to get those panick-streaken sweaty palm feeling going ;D. Last edited by Lord Dagon; Jan 04, 2010 at 08:17 PM // 20:17.. Reason: just lmao spelling mistakes xD |

Another thread w/ the same question...
In about another month, we'll get "What will be the benefits of the HoM in GW2?" Answer: Unless you hear it straight from the horses' ass, no one knows. |

Why? I've put my keys back in the box after use and then completely forgot about them. Kept the game box. I'm done.

In my eyes the funny thing about this thread is that it seems that people that are so spoiled in gw1 with all their goodies, will not play gw2 if they can't transfer their stuff, because then they got to start all over again. While unspoiled gw1 players are looking damn forward to it. Is it right to ask yourselfs wether your wealth has drained the fun out of it for you?!

I think there's going to be a lot of whiney people when GW2 comes out. It may only be the way you worded this, but you are aware that you won't actually "transfer" anything to GW2, I hope? The best you can expect is that you can bring people into your HoM in GW2 and show them what you had in GW1. The weapons and armor in the HoM won't be used in GW2.

this is straight from Guild Wars Official Wiki...
"Link to Guild Wars 2 This feature does not allow characters to be transferred between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2. However, it does allow character names to be reserved. It does not support bulk transfer of armor, items, characters, or gold. However, acquiring select items in GW1 will confer benefits in GW2 via the Hall of Monuments. Each of your GW1 characters has its own Hall of Monuments. However, the rewards will be "unlocked" account-wide and will transfer to your GW2 account, and it is possible to display all monuments attained on one account in GW1. Accomplishments dedicated in GW1's Hall of Monuments will continue to update your GW2 account even after GW2's release. " as far as more info or Anet changing this, thats for them to respond to.. |

ANet has stated on numerous occasions that GW2 is a new game and that no equipment or armor from GW1 will be usable in GW2.
